BIOGRAPHY
Graduated Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music, where he was granted a scholarship to study a Master of Music in Contemporary Performance, production concentration. This Colombian pianist is known for his versatility as a performer, composer and arranger.
He began his training in piano Jazz with Adolfo Peruchín, the cuban pianist of NG La Banda. Later he continued his studies with the renowned British pianist and Jazz educator Tim Richards, at Goldsmiths University of London, institution where he also received training in Orchestration and Arrangements for Jazz and Contemporary styles with Colin Crawley.
In London he was invited to perform with recognized latin bands and he also conducted a salsa orchestra with British musicians. Besides he produced two singles as a songwriter, Mi Condena and Recuerda el Ayer. With the last song he won honorable mention in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest 2004.
Rubén currently teaches piano Jazz at Sergio Arboleda University in Bogotá, and combines teaching with his artistic activities as a composer, arranger and producer of original music for audiovisual productions and jingles. At the moment he is promoting Momentos, an EP for piano and Jazz ensemble, with five pieces and arrangements of his own.

Graduado Cum Laude de Berklee College of Music, institución que le otorgó beca para realizar estudios de Maestría en Interpretación Contemporánea con énfasis en producción, este pianista colombiano se destaca por su versatilidad musical como intérprete, compositor y arreglista.
Inició su formación en Jazz con el maestro Adolfo Peruchín, pianista cubano de “NG La Banda. Posteriormente continuó sus estudios con el reconocido catedrático de Jazz y pianista Británico Tim Richards en Goldsmiths University of London, institución donde también recibió formación en Orquestación y Arreglos para Jazz y estilos Contemporáneos con Colin Crawley.
En Londres fue invitado a tocar con reconocidas agrupaciones de latin y dirigió una orquesta de salsa con músicos británicos. Allí también produjo dos sencillos como cantautor Mi Condena y Recuerda el Ayer, tema con el cual obtuvo mención de honor en el concurso John Lennon Songwriting Contest en 2004.
Actualmente Rubén es docente de piano Jazz en la Universidad Sergio Arboleda, trabajo que combina con su actividad artística como productor, arreglista y compositor de música para comerciales y producciones audiovisuales. Actualmente está promoviendo su trabajo Momentos, un EP de Jazz para piano y ensamble, que reune composiciones y arreglos de su autoría.
